Commander’s Message 11/9/17
Hello Sons!
We’ve just returned from Fall Conference, and it was a great learning experience as always. I’m pleased to report the the entire Detachment is doing well on membership. Almost every Squadron is meeting or exceeding their goals, or is close to doing so. It also pleases me to inform you that District 13 has NO ZERO SQUADRONS! Every Squadron in our district has sent in membership – and for that, I thank you!
Just because we do not have any zero squadrons doesn’t mean that you can relax on membership. The November 16 goal of 35% is just around the corner. As of last week’s membership report (the newest report will be out later today), we currently have one Squadron (192 – Fort Myers) about to make 35%. There are 2 squadrons (110 – Port Charlotte & 336 – N Ft Myers) about to hit the 30% mark. The others (103, 123, 130, 351) are barely above the 20% mark. Squadron 135 Naples is still recovering from Irma, they’re excused from achieving their goals for now.
There is no reason these numbers should still be so low. National sent out a membership mailing right after the National Convention in Reno. I’ve been assisting with membership at my Squadron, and I know this is true. Remember – the end of the year is fast approaching, and everyone (in theory) should be paid up by January 1st. Do not sit on your membership. I’m not asking for miracles, but at this time of the year, you should be making a transmittal once a week.
If everyone sends in a transmittal this week, it should be processed before the 16th. Let’s see if we can all reach that 35% goal!
Our next goal is 45% by December 14th
With our seasonal members returning for the Winter, we should all have no problem reaching our goals. Our district is currently 10th in the Detachment for membership – with your help i KNOW we can make it to 100% before everyone else! If you need help with Membership, please do not hesitate to contact me or 1st Vice Commander Burns by email or by phone.
You can view the current membership report by clicking on the iamge attached to this post, or by visiting https://www.floridasons.org/membership/membershipreport.pdf.
Thanks for all you do!
For God and Country,
